I cry inside of me
I cry hopelessly
Cause I know I'll never breathe your love again...."
Thus sang Westlife....you know how I dig their songs...
Anyway, but this isn't yet another Cinderella's 'soppy regular' folks. Its about 'CRY'. 'Child Rights and YOU'. Some time back a friend of mine registered with CRY, and today he's a vicarious dad of one girl child. He's gonna be responsible for her, with her education, her growing up...and the like. And I'm so proud of him.
I've always wanted to adopt a child, but my family has their reasons, and somewhere they do have a lil logic so in the course of time I had to chuck the wish. Knowing about CRY, opened a new vista and again there was a gleam of hope. I'm gonna register with them one day, when I earn a lil more, and adopt a girl child.
Raise her, be a single mom. Even though I would'nt be able to keep her near me, which is a price perhaps I will pay for loving my family and respecting their wish. But, ofcourse I can meet her , spend time with her. And that's all so thrilling. I know you dont need it, but thnx Bishu for this.
The studies and surveys undertaken for my thesis work on 'slums' brought into light the devastating state of affairs that still exist in today's modern world. So much needs to be done, yet so less is actually being accomplished.
While at school, we used to go slums, old-age homes, child-care homes and spend time with the folks there, on a pretty regular basis. At college, it became quite infrequent, yet I could never really get over the desire and thats is why I decided to adopt a child with CRY. My bit to our world..perhaps...
Though I admit, somewhere, I'd be indulging myself in an innate desire I have harboured all these years.I'd urge you my friends, to also extend your contribution in whatever little way you can. You dont have to go anywhere. Coz its just a click away. The internet having made the world into a global village, we neednt anymore travel miles if we really wanna accomplish something.
Its our world. Its our universe. If we dont take care, who will ?
Have a fun weekend fellas...!
